SABUNG AYAM - oil on canvas, 30x40cm, 2014

Sabung Ayam or Cock Fight is a traditional hobby in Indonesia and several other asian countries. I was inspired to capture an Indonesian cultural scene and I opted for this scene of a man holding his cock.. err.. holding his rooster I should say.

Impression of Dad - oil on canvas, 30x40cm, 2014

This work is an attempt to capture the essence of my father. He has a strong muscular neck, distinctive bags under the eyes and short white hair. This painting probably would be a reminder only to those who know him.

KOTA TUA HERITAGE BUILDING - STASIUN KOTA OR BATAVIA ZOID - pen on paper, 20x25cm unframed, 2016

Statiun Kota or Beos or Batavia Zoid. The word Zoid or South was chosen because in those days the rail station was indeed on the south side of Batavia.

KOTA TUA HERITAGE BUILDING - JEMBATAN KOTA INTAN - pen on paper, 20x25cm unframed, 2016

This draw bridge had many different names in the past but it's first name ever was "Englese Brug" or "English Bridge". According to historians, the bridge connected one side of the river where the Dutch were to the other side where most of the English were, hence the name "Englese Brug"

This building in Kali Besar was originally called "Rotterdam Internatio" (yes, you read it right, there is no "nal" syllable at the end). Now it is known as Gedung Cipta Niaga.
