Jakarta History Museum, acrylic on canvas 76 x 101 cm, 2021.

This painting was done entirely within the covid-19 pandemic lockdown period of 2021 in Sydney. The museum is in the Kota Tua historical precinct in Jakarta. The precinct is supposed to be revitalised and renovated to become a cultural icon for Jakarta. I wonder what happened to that revitalisation project

Pura Tirta Empul. Acrylic on canvas, 51x61cm 2020.

Tirta Empul is a shrine at the well known Tampak Siring tourist spot in Bali Indonesia. It is a balinese holy place where there is a ground water spring. Balinese believe that by praying and bathing in the spring water, their prayers will be answered. Tirta Empul literally means Holy Water.

Sarangan, acrylic on canvas 51x61cm 2020

Sarangan in east java is one of those off the beaten track kind of place. It is up near mount Lawu close to the border with central java. There is a lake and the climate is cool. Definitely worthwhile visiting and most certainly worthwhile capturing on canvas.
